coco shah

Coco Shah (they/she/he) is a clinical social worker, healing justice organizer, consultant, writer, yoga student, and training doula. They earned their BS in Community & International Development at the University of Vermont and their MSW from Smith College. They are currently based in Massachusetts.

In childhood they were quickly labeled by elders as too outspoken and often informed she would someday "make a bad Indian wife”. Over time Coco realized just how much this resistance to gender norms was a core part of their personhood. They continue to challenge the expectation that clinicians should perform a sterile version of themselves with the people they serve. Coco’s reclamation of Bad Indian Wife as a nonbinary nontraditional healer is a statement of self-acceptance and empowerment in resistance to the status quo.

Coco believes healing is a form of time travel that everyone can access. They love exploring intimacy and attachment with people of all ages and identities. Please visit the Current Offerings page to learn more.

Coco is not accepting new clients at this time.
